For the first time since 1999, the Buffalo Bills have swept the New England Patriots in a lopsided 38-9 routing in Foxborough Monday night.

On the heels of broken records from Josh Allen (single-season passing touchdowns with 34)  and Stefon Diggs (single-season receiving yards with 1,383), the Buffalo Bills seemed to score at will.

With three receiving touchdowns on the day, Diggs and Allen picked apart a New England team that ruled the AFC East with an iron fist for years.

This game seemed to be a changing of the guard as the new, young, talented Buffalo Bills gave the Patriots a taste of their own medicine. Scoring through the air via Stefon Diggs and Lee Smith and the ground, thanks to Zack Moss, Buffalo’s offense looked just as complete as it has in previous games.

While the game looked to be a typical Buffalo-New England matchup in the opening minutes of the game, the Bills then blew the proverbial door off the game. Dialing up fake punts to keep drives alive then running jet sweeps, screen passes, and deep attacks for 24 first-half points, the Bills’ lead allowed them to sit Allen for most of the fourth quarter.

After collecting their now 12th win in the 2020 campaign, the team will have a chance to steal the two-seed from the Pittsburgh Steelers next week against Miami.

These are the top three takeaways for the Buffalo Bills from a historic Monday night.
