Buffalo Bills: Final Score Prediction against the Patriots in Week 16
This is the final score prediction for the Buffalo Bills in Week 16.
The Buffalo Bills are coming off of last week’s win which crowned them as AFC East Champions for the first time in over two decades. Heading into Week 16, the Bills need to keep on task and take care of business against the New England Patriots.
The Pittsburgh Steelers won on Sunday over the Indianapolis Colts but if the Bills win against the Patriots they will remain in the two seed because the Bills beat the Steelers they are ahead in the tiebreaker. Therefore, playoff seeding for the Bills is entirely in their own destiny, if they win their next two games they earn the second seed in the AFC.
Although this may not be the New England Patriots of old, the Bills’ first meeting with the Patriots this year should show that this team still deserves plenty of respect. If it wasn’t for a timely forced fumble by Justin Zimmer the Bills could have lost to the Patriots in the first matchup of this season.
Despite all of the late injuries to some key players last week for the Bills, they have only ruled out one player for Week 16 and that player is Reggie Gilliam. Aside from Gilliam, the Bills only have two other players with injury designations heading into Week 16, this includes Jaquan Johnson and Ty Nsekhe. While all three of these Bills players are valuable depth contributors, it should not impact the outcome of this game with any significance.
As for the Patriots on the other hand, they have 20 players compared to the Bills 10 listed on the Week 16 injury report. Additionally, each one of these 20 players on their injury report has a questionable injury designation heading into this Monday Night Football game.
The area that could potentially be fatal for the Patriots is at the cornerback position. Stephon Gilmore has already been rued out for the remainder of the season, but J.C. Jackson and Jonathan Jones are also questionable for this game. If all three of these cornerbacks are out for Week 16, expect Josh Allen and the Bills offense to commit to passing the football more than they did in their first meeting with the Patriots this season.
Ultimately, I think the Bills are focused on the task at hand and will not overlook the Patriots in Week 16. If the Bills can follow my keys to victory for this week, it should open up a wider range of possibilities for the Bills to beat the Patriots. My final score prediction for Week 16 is for the Bills to win 30-21.
At the end of the day, I think the Buffalo Bills will allow some points, but the team is just too hot to be stopped at the moment. Especially with the mount of notable injuries the Patriots are dealing with heading into this game.
Prediction: Bills win 30-21
