Taron Johnson

Another player who has been playing well as of late has been nickel Taron Johnson. Entering the game against the Broncos, quarterbacks throwing in Johnson’s direction had a QB rating under 70 in three of the last four games. This is a tremendous improvement from the first part of the year where there was only one game in the first nine games where QBs had a rating below 70.

Last week, against the Steelers he had the play of the game when he returned an interception for a touchdown. While he did leave that game with a concussion, he was able to clear protocol and return to play against the Broncos.

The Bills secondary as a whole but Johnson is someone that has really started to elevate his play. He finished the game with four total tackles and one pass defended, which he had a great chance to intercept and likely would have found the end zone.

The Buffalo Bills play a majority of their defensive snaps in nickel and Taron Johnson is essentially a starter for this team. Hopefully, he is able to continue this play into the playoffs.
