Defensive Line

The Buffalo Bills defensive line struggled to get pressure on Ben Roethlisberger but this has more to do with their gameplan than the performance of the defensive line. The Steelers have been using more of a short pass offensive gameplan which gets the ball out of Roethlisberger’s hand quickly.

Even with the lack of pressure, the defensive line won the battle in the trenches here. They did a good job of limiting what the Steelers’ run game was able to do and held them to only 2.8 yards per carry this week.

It was the defensive tackles in particular that had a good game as Ed Oliver did a good job getting into the backfield and had one tackle for a loss while Harrison Phillips led all defensive linemen this week with four total tackles.
