Josh Allen was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after his performance against the San Francisco 49ers.

This has been an incredible season for Josh Allen and this past week against the San Francisco 49ers may have been his best game yet. He was recognized for that performance by being named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback in Week 13 against the 49ers went 32 of 40 for 375 passing yards and four touchdowns, with no interceptions. This was Allen’s sixth game this year throwing for over 300 yards and his third game with four passing touchdowns.

This is the third time he has won the award this season with the other two coming in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins and Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks.

As the tweet from Buffalo Bills PR mentions, this is the first time in franchise history that an offensive player has won the award three times in one season. When considering the Buffalo Bills have had players like Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, and Andre Reed apart of this franchise, this is a rather remarkable feat.

This speaks to just how good Josh Allen has been this year and the level he has played at. He has seen his completion percentage jump over 10 points from 58.8 last year to 69.9 so far this season. Josh Allen has already set season highs in passing yards (3,403) and passing touchdowns (26) with four games left in the regular season.

While he has developed as a passer, he hasn’t lost that threat to make plays with his legs and has six rushing touchdowns on the season, as well as one receiving touchdown.

He also has improved protecting the ball this year with only eight interceptions on the season and is on pace for his lowest Interception percentage, interceptions per pass attempt, of his career at 1.9%.

Josh Allen will look to continue his strong season when the Buffalo Bills face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football this week.
