Buffalo Bills: Two players miss walkthrough practice on Wednesday
The Buffalo Bills had only two players sit out of Wednesday’s practice.
The Buffalo Bills played on Monday night in Week 13 and the team has adjusted their practice schedule to account for the different game day. This week the Bills started the week off with a walkthrough practice on Wednesday as they prepare to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14.
The team had two players who did not practice starting with defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson. It appears the defensive tackle is dealing with a hip injury that limited his playing time against the 49ers. He has recently been playing over 55% of the team’s defensive snaps but this past week played only 44%.
The other player who missed practice on Wednesday was Jaquan Johnson. The backup safety hasn’t played much on defense this season but is a key special teams player for the Bills. It will be worth noting if they are able to participate tomorrow, even if it’s on a limited basis.
In addition Jake Fromm, who is the team’s emergency QB and practices away from the team, the Bills also had kick returner Andre Roberts limited for practice on Wednesday. The former Pro Bowl returner is dealing with an Achilles injury.
If Roberts is not able to play, this would be a big loss as Roberts is one of the best in the NFL at his position.
The good news is that the other two players on the injury report, Josh Allen and Jon Feliciano, were both full participants on Wednesday. It appears Josh Allen’s injury is likely from Week 12 when Joey Bosa rolled up on Allen’s leg on a sack. The injury didn’t hinder the Bills’ quarterback in his play against the 49ers and he shouldn’t have any issues playing this week.
As for Feliciano, he was forced to leave the game against the 49ers due to a knee and foot injury but he did return in that game. It doesn’t appear that the injury will be an issue for the team’s starting guard.
