This is how every rookie on the Buffalo Bills did in Week 12.

The Buffalo Bills once again saw the rookie class step up and play a pivotal role in the outcome of the game. This is a recap of what each rookie did in Week 12 in the Bills 27-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers

A.J. Epenesa

The Buffalo Bills had veteran pass rusher Trent Murphy inactive for this game, which likely due to the fact the coaching staff wanted to get the rookie more playing time. He has been fairly quiet this season but against the Chargers played 31 snaps or 37% of the defensive snaps.

While A.J. Epenesa didn’t fill up the stat sheet, he did finish the game with two tackles, one tackle for a loss, and one QB hit. This was one of his more productive games and is hopefully something he can build on moving forward.

Zack Moss

The rookie running back has been playing slightly more snaps than Devin Singletary and the game against the Chargers was no different. He finished with 60% of the offensive snaps but had fewer touches than Singletary.

Zack Moss in Week 12 had nine rushing attempts for 59 yards along with two receptions for nine yards. However, the reason Moss may be getting more playing time is his pass protection and his willingness to pick up blitzers.

This clip shows the Dawson Knox touchdown but Zack Moss puts his body in the way of a charging Joey Bosa that gives Allen enough time to get the ball to the tight end. These types of plays is probably one of the big reasons he is getting the playing time he is.

Gabriel Davis

For the third time this year, it was Gabriel Davis who stepped into the starting lineup in place of the injured John Brown. He finished the game with 97% of the offensive snaps and with Brown on injured reserve should see plenty of playing time moving forward.

In the game against the Chargers, Davis finished with three receptions for 79 yards (which was a team-high) and one touchdown reception from Cole Beasley. One of those receptions was a 44-yard catch over the top of the Chargers defender down the sideline.

These are the plays this offense really needs with no John Brown as it can stretch the field and force defenses to play a little further off the line of scrimmage.

Tyler Bass

The Buffalo Bills rookie kicker had another perfect game, his second straight game making every field goal and extra point attempt. After making three field goals and three extra point attempts against the Arizona Cardinals, Bass made two field goals and three extra points.

It seems like the game against the New York Jets when he made six of eight field goal attempts, was a turning point for the rookie. Since that game, he has missed only one field goal attempt which was a 61-yard attempt against the Seattle Seahawks.

If Bass continues to show this type of accuracy along with the leg strength the team knew he always had, he could give the Bills an advantage in games with an extended field goal range.

Reggie Gilliam

The undrafted free agent continues to be a key part of the Buffalo Bills special teams, being on the field for 44% of those snaps against the Los Angeles Chargers. He also saw some playing time on offense with Tyler Kroft inactive for Week 12 and played six snaps. However, did not see any targets when on offense.
