These are the players who are inactive for Week 12 for the Buffalo Bills.

The Buffalo Bills entered Sunday with only two players ruled out, which was offensive guard Cody Ford and wide receiver John Brown. However, since they were ruled out Friday they were placed on injured reserve and the team elevated Jake Kumerow and Darron Lee.

This gave the Bills 52 active players to pick from this week and with no other injures, the coaching staff had to figure out the best 48 players to make active. Those four players are quarterback Jake Fromm, running back T.J. Yeldon, tight end Tyler Kroft and defensive end Trent Murphy.

The biggest surprise is without a doubt Tyler Kroft being inactive this week. The veteran has arguably been the team’s best tight end this year while Dawson Knox has struggled. However, considering the team has only three tight ends active for this game, this is shaping up to be a game where Knox can prove he should be the team’s starting tight end and should have a big workload.

The other surprise is defensive end Trent Murphy, who is a healthy scratch for the second time this year. He was also inactive in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. This should create more playing time for rookie A.J. Epenesa, who also has had a quiet season but has a great opportunity ahead of him this week.

The absence of John Brown, this week and moving forward, should mean that rookie Gabriel Davis sees an expanded role in this offense. He has typically been the player to replace Brown and now has a chance to build on a promising rookie year.

Another player who could see additional playing time is Isaiah McKenzie, who has been more of a gadget player this year. However, he was the team’s starting wide receiver at times last year and could give the Bills more of that vertical threat that is missing with John Brown’s absence.
