These are three key matchups to watch for the Buffalo Bills in Week 12.

Coming off a well deserved and needed bye week, the Buffalo Bills look to turn things up to 11 in the unofficial second half of their season against LA.

Facing a Los Angles Chargers team that is still developing not only their identity but their potential franchise quarterback in Justin Herbert. Speaking of Herbert, the former sixth-overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft has quickly become the leader in the clubhouse for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Herbert will have his hands full with the Buffalo Bills defensive secondary, which is where the first key matchup lies.

Justin Hebert vs. Buffalo Bills Secondary

For the first few weeks, the narrative surrounding the Buffalo Bills was not Josh Allen and his potential MVP season but their defense. For years, Buffalo was recognized as a team that was difficult to play against from the first to the last whistle. The opposite was true for the first handful of games as stopping the run and the pass was a difficulty for Buffalo. Now identifying and improving their weaknesses, Buffalo’s defense has become respectable, but still not great.

Where Herbert may have his biggest challenge of the game is trying to it the ball out against a defense that has Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer. Identifying an area not covered by both roaming safeties would be a challenge for any quarterback, let alone a rookie quarterback.

Where Herbert may be able to find success would be against a potential Mike Williams-Josh Norman matchup. Being that Norman has not played a full-speed snap since week six, Norman may have some rust he needs to knock off before he can settle into the game and the rest of the season.
