Secondary much improved

This is a carryover from the Buffalo Bills Week 9 win over the Seattle Seahawks but was on display once again in the game against the Arizona Cardinals. The Buffalo Bills entered this year with what was considered one of the best secondaries in the NFL.

That hasn’t been the case to start the year as the Bills found themselves in more high scoring games than they were likely expecting. However, this defense held Kyler Murray to only 245 passing yards and one passing touchdown, as well as coming away with an interception. If the hail mary play didn’t happen, Murray would have finished with 202 passing yards and no touchdowns.

This is significant for a quarterback that over the past three games had thrown for 8 touchdowns with one interception. When adding in their performance against the Seahawks, where Russell Wilson threw for two touchdowns after throwing for a league-leading 26 touchdowns in the previous eight games, there is something here.

The Buffalo Bills had to do some shuffling prior to the game with Levi Wallace and Josh Norman not available and started Dane Jackson. The rookie once again played well but left due to an injury and was replaced by Daryl Worley.

Even with all the changes, and the fact they have for the most part done a good job against two of the better passing offenses should give the coaching staff some confidence that the secondary could be set up to finish the year strong.
