The Buffalo Bills placed four players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday.

Entering Week 10, the Buffalo Bills knew their secondary was going to be tested in this matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Their offense is one of the most prolific passing attacks and it was going to test their depth.

That challenge grew even more on Saturday when the Bills announced they placed four players on the Reserve/COVID-19. This week was supposed to be the return of Josh Norman, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, however, he tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.

The team also identified three players who were considered close contacts and they also were ruled out. That included cornerback Levi Wallace, safety Dean Marlowe and tight end Tyler Kroft.

The absence of Wallace and Norman does leave a major hole at the cornerback position opposite Tre’Davious White. This game also was potentially going to be a big game for Marlowe as Micah Hyde suffered an ankle injury during Thursday’s practice and was listed as questionable. If Hyde is not able to go, Marlowe would have gotten the start but the team will likely now turn to Jaquan Johnson if Hyde is not able to play.

On the offensive side of the ball, Tyler Kroft was playing well and was closing in on the starting job. However, his absence now creates an opportunity for Dawson Knox who has had a down year, due in part to injuries.

While the Bills will be without four players, they did call up players from their practice squad that could see significant snaps. This group includes cornerbacks Dane Jackson and Daryl Worley, safety Josh Thomas, linebacker Darron Lee, and wide receiver Jake Kumerow.

The call-ups of Worley and Lee are particularly interesting as they were free agent signings just last week.
