Buffalo Bills: Fans raise over $400,000 in honor of Josh Allen’s grandma
Fans remember Josh Allen’s grandma with donations to Oishei Children’s Hospital.
Following the conclusion of Sunday’s monumental win against the Seattle Seahawks, news quickly broke on social media that Josh Allen’s grandmother, Patricia Allen, had passed the night before the game.
“You know, Josh is emotional,” said head coach Sean McDermott postgame. “As you probably heard he lost his grandmother last night and it was a big win and a great thing and to play as he played. Just a mentally tough man,” he added.
In response to the news, ‘Bills Mafia’ was quick to support Josh and his family. Donating in increments of $17, in honor of Patricia Allen, Bills fans raised over $100,000 in just 24 hours.

Josh was quick to tell the fan base how appreciative he was of their efforts.
But the support did not stop there. Fast forward to Thursday and Bills fans worldwide have collectively donated a whopping $400,000 for Oishei Children’s Hospital in memory of Patricia.
Moved by the abundance of support, Allen told the media how much this means to him and his family:
"“Words can’t describe how I feel, how my family feels,” he said. “Every time I call my parents to let them know the new number, they just bawling all over again. To know that people care and that so much good is coming out of a tough situation, you know, it means the world to myself. It means the world to my family. It just shows how this Bills community, and this buffalo community, rally around each other. That’s what they’re known for and that’s what they’ll still be known for.”"
Feeling the embrace of the community has truly shown Allen that Buffalo is where he wants to be. He went as so far as to say “I don’t ever want to leave Buffalo. I want to play here as long as I can and give back to the community.”
Since arriving in Buffalo, Josh has done incredible things for the community with Oishei. This season, Allen launched a self-titled cereal called ‘Josh’s Jaqs” with proceeds of sales going towards the hospital.
