Zack Moss
While Zack Moss doesn’t have last season to compare to, since he is a rookie, he was still expected to be a big part of this offense entering this year. That just hasn’t been the case as the run game, in general, was a big disappointment to start the year.
The rookie, along with Devin Singletary, really wasn’t able to get much going that would force defenses to respect this part of the offense. Combine this with Zack Moss suffering a toe injury that kept him out for three weeks, the start to his NFL career didn’t go as planned.
That seemed to change against the New England Patriots as Moss would gain 81 rushing yards on 14 carries and two rushing touchdowns. He didn’t have the same success this past week against the Seahawks but did find the end zone once again.
The reason why Zack Moss could be in line for a better second half is that he could potentially be passing Devin Singletary on the depth chart. The past two weeks, Moss has had more snaps than Singletary and this past week got 11 touches to Singletary’s five.
Even if the workload continues to remain relatively evenly split, Zack Moss has emerged as the goal-line back and this is why the second half of his rookie season should be better.
