Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 9.

The performance of Josh Allen was a big reason for the Buffalo Bills 44-34 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He finished the game completing 31 of 38 passes for 415 yards with three passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. More importantly, he didn’t have any turnovers in this game, which is only the third time that has happened this season.

It was a performance Bills’ fans were accustomed to seeing in the first four weeks and he was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 9 on Wednesday.

As the tweet from Buffalo Bills PR notes, this is actually Josh Allen’s second Player of the Week award this season. He also won the award in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins when he threw for 415 passing yards, which is his career-high, and had four passing touchdowns.

He joins an elite company with this award as he is the third player in franchise history to win the award twice in the same season. The other two players were Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas.

This season has been an impressive one for the Buffalo Bills quarterback. In his third season in the NFL, he currently is third in the NFL in passing yards (2,587), tied for fifth in passing touchdowns (19) but the most impressive stat may be his completion percentage.

He currently has a completion percentage of 68.9%, which is the sixth-best percentage in the NFL. This is something he has struggled with in the first two years in the league and had a career completion percentage of around 55%.

The Buffalo Bills could need a similar performance on Sunday as they prepare to face the Arizona Cardinals. They also have an explosive offense and this has the potential to be a shootout similar to the Seattle Seahawks game.
