Tre’Davious White vs. D.K. Metcalf

Without question, the top matchup for the Buffalo Bills is cornerback Tre’Davious White lining up across from Seahawks’ wide receiver D.K. Metcalf. While the Bills star cornerback is used to being asked to shut down the opposing team’s best wide receiver, he has not faced a receiver like Metcalf.

The reason is that there just isn’t a wide receiver like him in the NFL. He has a unique combination of size and speed at 6’4″ and 229 pounds that makes him a matchup nightmare. The Seahawks wide receiver is having a breakout season in his second year where he ranks fourth in receiving yards per game (97.1), tied for second in receiving touchdowns (7), and second in yards per reception (18.9).

The concern is that Tre’Davious White has not played like the lockdown corner that he did last year. It is hard to pinpoint exactly why White has struggled this year and it could possibly be due to a back injury that forced him to miss a game earlier this season.

This is without question a game that the Buffalo Bills need the All-Pro Tre’Davious White if they want a chance to come away with a win.
