5th Round (1st pick): Daelin Hayes (DE, Notre Dame)

The Buffalo Bills after addressing linebacker and cornerback, continue to focus on the defense with the selection Daelin Hayes. The defensive end out of Notre Dame is one of those high upside players with his physical traits but it hasn’t produced huge stat lines.

In his first four years with the Fighting Irish, his highest sack total was three sacks and 6.5 sacks, which came in 2017. However, this season he is on pace to break both of those totals as he already has two sacks and three tackles for a loss through five games this year.

5th Round (2nd pick): LaBryan Ray (DT, Alabama)

One of the biggest needs for the Buffalo Bills is finding a defensive tackle that can anchor the interior of this defensive line. In past seasons that was Star Lotulelei, and while he will be back next year he is under contract for one more year.

That is why a player like LaBryan Ray makes sense as he can step in as a rookie competing for the starting job. However, if he doesn’t surpass he can be a good rotational player with an eye to replacing the veteran full time after next season.
