Running backs: C+
This grade is jarring but let me explain. You can only really properly grade a position group if you have a large enough sample size to argue a positive or negative for them. In the case of the Buffalo Bills running back room, we have really yet to understand how the duo of Singletary and Moss will work.
Granted, the Bills were without Moss as he was out numerous weeks with a foot injury leaving Singletary to command the majority of the backfield. In his absence, Buffalo only recorded only 259 rushing yards.
When Moss returned in Week six against the Cheifs and so on, the Bills have recorded 400 yards on the ground over the span of three games.
This number shows the duo have the talent and help from their offensive line to really cement themselves as top-tier complementary backs.
Their successes going forward will be predicated on the ongoing success of the offensive line. Though they have been great this year, it will also be up to Brin Daboll to learn from the win over New England and implement more runs into the offensive gameplan.
With skilled route runners in Stefon Diggs, John Brown and Cole Beasley on the outside, establishing the run is critical for the success of play-action.
With all of this said, it may take the entire season to really understand how Buffalo’s run game is going to look in the present and in the future.
