Buffalo Bills trade away Trent Murphy

If the Buffalo Bills want to add anyone, they first should be looking to add a little more draft capital. The team currently has six draft picks in next year’s NFL Draft with no fourth round pick, which goes to the Minnesota Vikings as part of the Stefon Diggs trade, and an extra fifth from the Zay Jones trade.

The seventh round pick is a bit of a question mark as their seventh round pick went to the Cleveland Browns as part of the Wyatt Teller trade but they could potentially get a seventh round pick from the Carolina Panthers as part of the Marshall Newhouse trade last year.

One player that could potentially bring back a mid-round pick is defensive end Trent Murphy, who is in the final year of a three-year deal. He has played 44% of the defensive snaps this year but hasn’t been very productive with those snaps.

The Bills do have some depth at the position too with second round pick A.J. Epenesa struggling to get snaps as well as Daryl Johnson and Bryan Cox Jr. It wouldn’t be surprising if any of these three could step in and produce at a level similar to Murphy.
