Buffalo Bills: Reviewing snap counts from Week 8 against the Patriots
These are the snap counts for the Buffalo Bills in Week 8.
The Buffalo Bills were once again forced to deal with a number of injuries to key starters. This created an opportunity for more playing time for a number of playing time. This is a review of the snap counts for the Bills offense and defense in Week 8 against the New England Patriots.
Buffalo Bills offense
The biggest change was along the offensive line as Jon Feliciano returned after starting the year on injured reserve. He started the game at left guard but the coaching staff had to make some changes on the first drive. This was due to Mitch Morse suffering a concussion on the third offensive play of the game.
The team initially went with Ryan Bates as the replacement, and he finished the opening drive, but then shifted Feliciano to center. In place of Feliciano at left guard, the Buffalo Bills went with Ike Boettger, who started last week’s game, and he ended up playing 83% of the snaps.
For the first time this season, Zack Moss had more snaps than Devin Singletary but the split once again was almost 50/50. Moss would end up playing three more snaps but Singletary finished the game with one more touch.
Buffalo Bills defense
The Buffalo Bills had to find a replacement for Micah Hyde, who missed this game due to a concussion, and went with Dean Marlowe. The Bills would actually have the same four players (Marlowe, Jordan Poyer, Tre’Davious White and Levi Wallace) play all 100% snaps in Week 8 against the Patriots.
The linebacker rotation continues to be an interesting one after Tremaine Edmunds, who played 97% of the snaps. Even though Matt Milano was active for the second straight week he played only 23% of the snaps. The injury is likely still a factor for Milano so it was A.J. Klein who saw a majority of the defensive snaps at 78%.

It is also worth noting that Andre Smith, who has primarily played special teams, saw his first snaps on defense. He would play 25% of the snaps and this could be due to the Buffalo Bills trying to utilize more of a 4-3 defense with the Patriots leaning more on the run this week.
