Buffalo Bills don’t need Josh Allen to win

The first four games of the season, Josh Allen was playing at an MVP level and was masking some of the other areas of concern for this team. Then in Week 5 and Week 6, when Allen struggled this team wasn’t able to get the job done against the Titans and Chiefs.

This week, with the weather causing issues in the passing game Josh Allen wasn’t in a position to really sling it around the field. He finished the game going 11 of 18 for 154 yards and one interception.

However, for the first time this year the team’s top running backs, Devin Singletary and Zack Moss were productive. They both surpassed 80 yards with Singletary finishing slightly ahead with 86 compared to Zack Moss’ 81. However, the rookie did have two rushing touchdowns.

If the Buffalo Bills can establish a run game like this, on week’s when the weather is not as much of a factor, this offense becomes much more dynamic. The biggest reason is now play action, which was used effectively to start the year, becomes more believable, and should open bigger plays for Josh Allen down the field.
