Final Score Prediction

After looking at the weather forecast for Buffalo this Sunday, it appears this Week 8 matchup will be affected by some moderate wind and rain. Regardless of the severity of the rain, any rain at all should impact play calling and force both teams to run the football more.

A sloppy weather game could benefit the Patriots greater than the Bills. This would effectively lessen Josh Allen’s passing impact, which is the strength of the Buffalo offense, but would also be the strength of the Patriots defense. On the other side of the ball, the rain would also play into the strength of the Patriots offense as they are much better on the ground than through the air.

At the end of the day, the team that should win this game will be the one that plays with more urgency and desperation. If the Bills beat the Patriots in Week 8, it will pretty much eliminate the Patriots from winning the AFC East after hypothetically dropping the first of two games against the division leading Bills. However, both teams will be playing with urgency because of the impact that this game’s final result will have on the AFC East division race.

My Week 8 final score prediction is for the Bills to beat the Patriots 24-20. Although the weather should play into the Patriots favor more than the Bills, I think that the rain forces the Bills to find confidence in their ground attack.
