Buffalo Bills activate guard Jon Feliciano from injured reserve
The Buffalo Bills announced on Tuesday that they have activated guard Jon Feliciano from injured reserve.
One player the Buffalo Bills have been waiting to get back on the field is offensive guard Jon Feliciano and he appears set to make his 2020 season debut this Sunday against the New England Patriots. He started all 16 games last season and was a key piece to the revamped offensive line.
Feliciano suffered a torn pec right before the start of training camp and the coaching staff has struggled to find a player that could replicate his performance. In the first seven weeks of the season, the team has seen Cody Ford, Brian Winters, and Quinton Spain all take snaps at right guard.
Now that Feliciano is able to return, the coaching staff will have to decide where he fits best. When everyone is healthy, he will likely return at right guard with Cody Ford remaining at left guard and Brian Winters becoming a backup.
However, Ford missed this past week due to an injury and Ike Boettger got the start. This was his first career start and he played well against the New York Jets. This means the coaching staff could leave Boettger at left guard and insert Feliciano at right guard.
The other option is to play Feliciano at left guard and keep Brian Winters at right guard until Cody Ford is able to return.
The return of Jon Feliciano should be a nice boost for this offensive line and hopefully will help the run game get going with improved blocking in the interior of this offensive line.
The Buffalo Bills also didn’t have to make a corresponding roster move because they placed Tyrel Dodson on injured reserve over the weekend. They didn’t add anyone to the active roster and had an open roster spot.
The Buffalo Bills will return to the practice field on Wednesday ahead of their Week 8 matchup with the New England Patriots.
