Buffalo Bills: 4 under-the-radar players to watch in Week 7
Reggie Gilliam
After news broke on Saturday that Dawson Knox had tested positive for COVID-19 and the team had to place three other tight ends on the Reserve/COVID-19 due to being in close contact, it essentially wiped out the tight end position.
The Buffalo Bills are going to be entering Sunday with only two healthy tight ends with Tyler Kroft, who was going to be the starter as soon as Knox was ruled out, and Reggie Gilliam. The undrafted rookie is the one that potentially could see the biggest increase in playing time with the best chance at producing.
Gilliam joined the Bills this summer as a fullback before moving to tight end prior to the year. On offense, his snaps have been sporadic but he does already have a receiving touchdown on the season.
The Bills haven’t run many players with two tight ends on the field, nine plays to be exact according to Sharp Football Analytics. Even though the Buffalo Bills haven’t used two tight ends frequently, expect Gilliam to be rotated in with Kroft in this game and a chance to see a few targets against the New York Jets.
