Geno Atkins

Since the Cincinnati Bengals selected Geno Atkins in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft, he has quickly ascended to being one of the better defensive tackles in the NFL. He has made eight Pro Bowls, including each of the last five years, and at 32 years of age doesn’t appear to be slowing.

However, he has appeared to fall out of the rotation as the Bengals may begin to evaluate and look at younger talent on the roster. According to a report by Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer, Atkins is not pleased about his playing time.

While Atkins would be a great fit for the Buffalo Bills and welcome addition to the interior of the defensive line, the biggest hurdle is going to be trying to fit his contract under the cap. He still has two years left on his contract with an average salary north of $12 million.

If Brandon Beane is able to work this salary into the Bills cap situation, Atkins would be an immediate boost to this defense.
