Slow Down Chiefs Passing Game

The first key to victory is perhaps the most obvious, which is slowing down Patrick Mahomes and this Chiefs passing game. The Bills are coming off their worst defensive performance of the season so far which has been filled with bad performances. Although the Buffalo Bills did a great job slowing down Derrick Henry and the running game last week, they could not stop the Titans passing game. In Week 6, the Bills face a much more threatening passing attack with mostly healthy weapons compared to last week against the Titans.

Although the Chiefs may be without former Bills receiver Sammy Watkins for this Week 6 matchup, this offense still has plenty of weapons. Just the other day the Chiefs signed Le’Veon Bell after he was released by the Jets. This is certainly a big addition for a team that had aspirations to repeat as Super Bowl Champions, but it is unlikely that Bell will have a significant impact in Week 6.

Furthermore, the largest threat to the Bills defense will be keeping the cap on Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill. Not only is Hill used as a gadget guy on jet sweep motions, but his speed makes him an excellent route runner and he is surprisingly great at high pointing the ball on contested catches.

Slowing down the Chiefs passing game will be a tough task considering they are 4th in total passing yards this season averaging almost 290 passing yards per game. If the Bills defense gets Tre’Davious White back for week 6 and holds the Chiefs to under 275 passing yards, that could give the Bills offense a chance to outscore the Chiefs.
