Patrick Mahomes

This one should not come as a surprise as Patrick Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and is off to another excellent start. In three years he has already won a league MVP award in 2018 as well as Super Bowl MVP to go along with a Super Bowl title last year.

It is really hard to slow down the Chiefs quarterback but if there is one thing that can help is getting pressure on him. The less time he has in the pocket, the better chance they have from slowing the Chiefs vertical passing game because Mahomes won’t have time to let his receivers get down field to make those plays.

However, for the Bills this has to be a concern after coming off a game where they were not able to sack Ryan Tannehill once and only had two QB hits all game. The other big concern is that when the Bills were able to collapse the pocket, Tannehill was able to escape due to the fact they weren’t able to set the edge and contain the Titans’ quarterback.

While Mahomes may not be known as a scrambling quarterback, he has enough athleticism to make plays with his legs. This is something the coaching staff will need to prepare for.
