If the Buffalo Bills are still interested in adding a running back, these are five running backs to consider.

The New York Jets surprisingly elected to release running back Le’Veon Bell earlier this week. Shortly after the news broke, the Buffalo Bills became one of the potential landing spots for the former Pro Bowl running back.

On Thursday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler tweeted out that the race was down to three teams with the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs were in contention. Barry Jackson at the Miami Herald followed up with his own tweet that he mentioned the Bills were pushing very hard.

Bell eventually made his decision and elected to join the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. The question now becomes do the Buffalo Bills continue to look to add to the running back position or hope production improves with their current group.

The running back position had high expectations entering this season as Devin Singletary was coming off an excellent rookie season and the Bills used a third round pick on Zack Moss. The hope was that the power Moss brings could complement the shiftiness of Singletary to give them an excellent 1-2 punch.

That, unfortunately, hasn’t materialized as the Bills have had only one game where as a team they broke 100 rushing yards, and no player on the team has had more than 60 rushing yards in a game.

If the Buffalo Bills are hoping to improve their running back position, these are some players that could be available, either as a free agent or through a trade.
