Buffalo Bills: 5 players you probably forgot played for the Bills
Terrell Owens
In 2009, the Buffalo Bills were desperately trying to get out of a playoff drought that at that point was almost a decade long. In March, the Dallas Cowboys made a surprising move by releasing Terrell Owens who was just coming off a season with over 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Bills hoping to make a splash pushed hard and four days later had agreed to a deal with the star wide receiver. He would get a hero’s welcome by the city and fan base, even receiving a key to the city.
However, once the season started the play of Terrell Owens did not generate the same excitement for a team that would end up going 6-10. This wasn’t entirely Owens’ fault as the Bills had questions at quarterback, starting with Trent Edwards before switching to Ryan Fitzpatrick midway through the year.
He would end up playing just one year in Buffalo and finished with 829 receiving yards, which was a career low for a season when playing 16 games, and five touchdowns. The most memorable moment is certainly the 98-yard reception he had against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
