This is where Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen ranks in the MVP race after Week 4.

It is hard to imagine that the Buffalo Bills would have a player who has a legitimate chance at the MVP award after a quarter of the season. However, that is exactly what Josh Allen has been able to do. While one or two games could have been written as just good weeks, now that his level of play has remained at such a high level, it is hard to dismiss.

While Josh Allen is in the discussion this could be one of the more competitive MVP races in recent memory that have a legitimate argument for the award. This is where the Top 5 players for MVP currently rank after four weeks.

5. Dak Prescott (QB, Dallas Cowboys)

Last Week: NR

This number five position has been a bit of a revolving door as the player here has not been able to move up but has dropped out of the rankings entirely. After Week 2, it was wide receiver Calvin Ridley and this past week it was Lamar Jackson.

However, neither player has played well enough to be in this discussion and has been surpassed by Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. In the past three weeks, Prescott has put up stats that can only be described as “video game type numbers.”

He has now thrown for over 400 yards each of the past three weeks, including 502 this past week against the Cleveland Browns. On the season, he leads the league in passing yards with 1,603 and has 12 total touchdowns.

One of the things that will hold him back is the Cowboys record as the award has typically gone to the best player on one of the best teams in the league. They are 1-3 on the season and if it wasn’t for a historic collapse by the Falcons realistically would be 0-4. If the Cowboys don’t start winning more games, it is hard to imagine Dak Prescott winning the MVP award.
