This is where Josh Allen currently ranks in the MVP race after three weeks.

It was an impressive two week start for Josh Allen and he outdid himself once again in Week 3 with his third straight 300+ passing yard day and had five total touchdowns including a game winner with 15 seconds left over the Los Angeles Rams.

On Thursday, Allen was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for his play to start the season but he also has remained squarely in the MVP race. Last week, was the start of the MVP watch and included Calvin Ridley who had third straight 100-yard receiving game but there was a former MVP who jumped him in these rankings.

I take a look at who I believe are the top contenders for the MVP after Week 3 and where Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen ranks among them.

5. Lamar Jackson (QB, Baltimore Ravens)

Last week: 4

There is no other way to say it other than it was not a good game for Lamar Jackson. The reigning MVP had a primetime matchup against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

It was an impressive performance by the Chiefs defense as Jackson completed only 15 of 28 passes for 97 passing yards, one touchdown with another 83 rushing yards. There are always going to be disappointing games throughout the course of the year.

However, this year there are a number of players are off to really great starts and Lamar Jackson can’t afford to many more of these if he hopes to keep pace.
