Stock Down: Buffalo Bills secondary

There is no other way to say it other than the Buffalo Bills secondary has been bad the past two weeks. This group was a strength of the defense and was considered one of the best secondaries in the NFL after finishing in the Top 3 in most passing defense categories.

However, after Jared Goff threw for over 300 yards on Sunday the Bills have given up the same number of 300-yard passers this year (Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for over 300 yards in Week 2) that they allowed all last season.

This is certainly surprising considering they had every starter from last year’s team return this year. It remains to be seen if opposing teams are catching on to the Buffalo Bills scheme or if this is just an anomaly for this defense.

The good news is that in the coming weeks the Bills should get Josh Norman back, potentially as early as Week 4, which could help this secondary but the coaching staff should try to focus on the secondary this week.
