Tight End

Entering the game, the Buffalo Bills knew they were going to be without Dawson Knox who suffered a concussion last week. However, it was veterans Tyler Kroft and Lee Smith that stepped up as they combined for three touchdowns, with Kroft making the key catch to put the Bills over the top on that final touchdown.

The emergence of Kroft is certainly interesting because the Bills signed him as a free agent with the expectations that he would be their starting tight end. However, a foot injury in OTAs last summer combined with the selection of Dawson Knox in last year’s NFL Draft pushed Kroft down the depth chart.

He was given the chance to start for the first time for the Buffalo Bills and responded great. How the snaps are split going forward is going to be interesting.

Offensive Line

The Buffalo Bills offensive line had the very tough task of trying to slow down Aaron Donald. He is one of the premier defensive players in the NFL and he can almost single-handedly wreck offensive game plans.

He certainly won this battle in Week 3 with two sacks and three QB hits and the Rams as a team finished with four sacks and six QB hits, which are season highs for Josh Allen.

The Bills coaching staff did shuffle the line before this game and moved Cody Ford over to left guard while Brian Winters got the start at right guard. These moves resulted in Quinton Spain being benched for this game.

It will be interesting if this was a result of Aaron Donald or the matchup or possibly a long-term answer until Jon Feliciano returns from his injury.
