Move the pocket
The vertical passing game has worked very well for the Buffalo Bills this year and they shouldn’t completely move away from it. However, when the Bills do want to take shots deep, they try to utilize play action but they should also move the pocket.
Josh Allen is an athletic quarterback and he has the ability to scramble but also is quick enough to slide the pocket away from Aaron Donald that should create an extra second or two to allow bigger pass plays to develop.
They can also call more bootlegs for Josh Allen, especially on play-action, that he can roll out to one side or the other. This again will create time for Allen to find Diggs or Brown on those deep plays.
The play action has been a big part of this offense so far this year and Josh Allen actually leads the league in attempts on these plays and leads the league with 367 passing yards.
The play action should continue to be utilized regularly in this game but expect Josh Allen to slide the pocket more to stay away from Aaron Donald.
