This is a recap of how the rookies for the Buffalo Bills played in the second game of the 2020 season.

The Buffalo Bills once again got big performances from their rookies. On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills had two more rookies score their first career touchdowns in the team’s 31-28 win over the Miami Dolphins. This followed Zack Moss scoring his first touchdown in Week 1 against the New York Jets.

For the second straight week, the Bills did not have Jake Fromm inactive while Dane Jackson remained on the practice squad and Isaiah Hodgins is on injured reserve through at least through Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

This is a recap of the performance of the rookies who were active in Week 2 played for the Buffalo Bills.

A.J. Epenesa

For the first time in his career, A.J. Epenesa was active for the Buffalo Bills. It was certainly surprising when Epenesa was inactive in the team’s first game and certainly a little disappointing for the team’s second round pick.

In the game against the Miami Dolphins, Epenesa played 17 snaps (23% of the defensive snaps) which was more than Darryl Johnson but far behind the other three at the position (Jerry Hughes, Mario Addison, and Trent Murphy). He did not register any stats in his first NFL game.

While it was good to see Epenesa get some playing time, it is clear he has some work to do before he becomes a regular contributor on this defense.
