Stock Down: Dawson Knox

One player who did not have a good game, and frankly a great start to the year, is tight end, Dawson Knox. The second-year player had only one reception for 38 yards but ended the play with a fumble. He also left the game early due to a concussion.

The Buffalo Bills have plenty of weapons now on the offensive side of the ball but Knox was expected to be a key piece to that. He has tremendous athleticism for a tight end and is a player that can create mismatches, similar to what Mike Gesicki did against the Bills on Sunday.

When the Buffalo Bills drafted Knox, they knew he was raw after limited opportunities at Ole Miss and he would need time to develop. However, the mistakes he made last season, like the drops, and the one on Sunday with the fumble are more mental mistakes. These are things the Bills can’t afford to have in their offense.

Hopefully, Knox is able to get back onto the field soon but if he continues to make these types of errors, the team may look to Tyler Kroft to give Knox more time to develop at the position.
