Matt Breida

The Dolphins run game was led by Myles Gaskin, who finished with 40 rushing yards and 26 receiving yards however overall the run game underwhelmed. Matt Breida meanwhile had only 22 rushing yards and no receiving yards.

However, if the Miami Dolphins want to get this part of their offense going, Matt Breida is that impact player that can transform this group.

Breida was acquired in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers during the offseason where he shared the backfield with Raheem Mostert and Telvin Coleman. This year he is sharing it with Gaskin and Jordan Howard but he is the most talented running back they have.

He is a player that can be effective as a runner but also as a pass catcher out of the backfield. It was a little surprising to see Breida not get a single target against the New England Patriots. Dolphins offensive coordinator Chan Gailey does like to use running backs in the passing game so this is something that will likely be used more against the Buffalo Bills.
