Tyler Bass

The rookie that had the toughest day was kicker Tyler Bass, who missed two field goal attempts, and even the kicks he did make barely snuck inside the goal post. While there is some debate about one of the misses because it went over the upright and did appear to sneak inside, there is certainly some concern.

The Buffalo Bills in no way should make a switch, or even consider making a switch at this point, it is worth monitoring. Bass was the only rookie to earn a starting job and while the Bills tried to recreate a game environment as much as possible in practice, it is hard to replicate the pressure of an actual NFL game.

Sean McDermott was asked about Bass on Monday and made sure it was clear they are still confident in him.

This is certainly the right message and the hope this is doesn’t become a larger issue over the next few weeks.
