These are the key matchups for the Buffalo Bills in Week 1 against the New York Jets.

The pressure is on the Buffalo Bills entering this season as expectations are the highest they have been potentially since the Jim Kelly era. This team has a great opportunity ahead of them as they hope to win their first AFC East since 1995 and will try to move past the first round of the playoffs since that same year.

This game on Sunday against the New York Jets is going to be a great test. When looking at the rosters on paper, the Bills are clearly the more talented team. However, anything can happen in a normal season but this year with no preseason game, there is even more uncertainty.

For the Buffalo Bills offense, while they would like to air it out with Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs, it will be important to establish the run with Devin Singletary and rookie Zack Moss. This should allow the offense to get into a rhythm and this should help open up the passing game.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Buffalo Bills should be able to have another dominant defensive performance. They are bringing back a majority of their starters while the Jets have almost an entirely new offensive line and wide receiver group.

These are the top three matchups for the Bills that they will need to win to ensure that the Jets don’t score an upset in Week 1.
