Buffalo Bills Week 1 Injury Report: Starter misses second straight practice
The Buffalo Bills had a starter miss practice for the second straight time this week.
The Buffalo Bills got out of training camp fairly healthy however it is looking more likely they will be without one starter from their unofficial depth chart released yesterday.
For the second straight day, cornerback Josh Norman did not practice due to a hamstring injury. This is an injury Norman suffered midway through training camp and appeared to be trending in the right direction.
It was even reported on Monday that Norman, along with Levi Wallace, did practice some. This raises the question if Norman suffered a setback or if the Bills are just being extra cautious with their starting corner.
If the Buffalo Bills are forced to be without Norman, then this gives Levi Wallace a chance to regain his starting job. Wallace was the team’s starter all last year but had been competing with Norman entering the 2020 season.
The good news for the Buffalo Bills is that they did have a number of players return to full participation after being limited on Wednesday.
In that group is Taiwan Jones, who returned to the Buffalo Bills this offseason. While he is listed as a running back, he will see most of his playing time on special teams. The veteran presence of Jones should be a nice boost for this group against the New York Jets.
The other player that practiced in full was Vernon Butler, who also was named as a starter on the Bills depth chart released on Wednesday. The former first round pick joined the Buffalo Bills as a free agent after starting his career with the Carolina Panthers. He was able to beat out Harrison Phillips and will be starting alongside Ed Oliver on Sunday against the New York Jets.
