Buffalo Bills: 6 players they should try to add to their practice squad
Cam Lewis/Dane Jackson
The Buffalo Bills were dealing with injuries at the cornerback position towards the end of training camp, particularly hamstring injuries for Josh Norman and Levi Wallace. The fact that the Bills only kept five cornerbacks on their 53-man roster could indicate that this should be a non-issue by the time they take the field against the New York Jets.
However, depth at cornerback has been an issue for this team, and keeping five with the potential for injuries seems like a risk. This is why it would make sense for the Buffalo Bills to try to add multiple cornerbacks to their practice squad.
Cam Lewis joined the Bills last offseason as an undrafted free agent and spent the year on the practice squad. The former University of Buffalo was having a solid training camp by multiple reports and as Matt Parrino notes, the Buffalo Bills would like to bring him back.
As for Dane Jackson, he was a seventh round pick by the Buffalo Bills in the recent NFL Draft. He also was the only draft pick by the Buffalo Bills to not make the 53-man roster. Similar to Wallace and Norman, he was dealing with his own injuries at the end of camp and this could have contributed to his release.
It is hard to imagine that the Buffalo Bills don’t at least try to bring their seventh round pick back on the practice squad.
