Tailgate Bubble for Bills Mafia
Smashing tables, Zubaz pants and chants of “Let’s go Buffalo” are often ringing throughout Orchard Park parking lots during the season. With Bills’ Stadium to be empty in Weeks 1 and 2, fans will have to get creative for their pregame festivities this year.
In an article published by TMZ, it is said that there is an option for “bubble” tailgates. The article states these sponsored bubbles allow fans to have all the fun of a pre-COVID-19 tailgate but with some new measures installed to ensure safety.
In the outlined idea, fans will have to register to enter the tailgate. Once they have done that, they will be free to enjoy all the typical beverages and food supplied at any pregame party back in 2019.
Though this idea sounds all and well, the Erie County Department of Health will not permit any tailgate activities if there are no fans allowed in the stadium.
Last week, WGRZ reported that County Executive Mark Poloncarz spoke on the idea of tailgates in Orchard Park saying:
"“If NYS allows fans to attend Bills games, tailgating will be allowed, but with restrictions to protect the public. Currently, NYS does not allow attendance at any pro sports event. Thus tailgating in public and private lots will depend on whether fans can attend the games.”"
With social distancing not being at the heart of a tailgate, it looks like that though there are measures that are being desired to put in place to keep people safe, Bills fans will have to remain patient if they want to have Orchard Park rocking again.
