Ford’s position to be solidified soon
“I would like to see something unfold this week, when I say this week I mean maybe over the next seven days,” said head coach Sean McDermott when asked about Cody Ford on Friday.
McDermott’s comments come during a time where there is much dismay over the construction of the Bills offensive line. With the injury to Jon Feliciano making the Bills lose a starting guard, Ford is seen as possibly the next-man-up.
Ford’s development at the position has been progressing slower than many would like though he has shown glimpses that he can be an elite-tackle talent. If McDermott was to move him to guard, he does have the capability to step in as he has some experience at the position during his time with the Oklahoma Sooners. This move though would mean that the offensive line needs to be reshuffled and a tackle would have to fill Ford’s spot.
For that position, the Bills have the option of either rookie Trey Adams, Victor Salako or Daryl Williams who can play guard and tackle.
Though the Bills do have some stability on the left side of the line with Dion Dawkins and Quinton Spain, Feliciano’s injury has been the biggest blow to the Bills this offseason as his absence will be noted.
