Buffalo Bills: Rookies making good first impression to start training camp
Reggie Gilliam
The last rookie that has made a strong first impression in training camp for the Buffalo Bills is Reggie Gilliam. The Bills didn’t actually draft Gilliam but rather he was an undrafted free agent out of the University of Toledo.
Earlier this week, special teams coordinator was asked about Reggie Gilliam and he said that he is in “a great battle” with veteran Patrick DiMarco.
Similar to Tyler Bass, Gilliam is going to face an uphill battle because the Buffalo Bills will not be keeping two fullbacks. He will be tasked with beating out the veteran for that starting role if he wants to make the Bills’ regular season roster.
If there is one thing that helps his case is that he has excelled on special teams in college, with four blocked kicks as a junior. Farwell noted his play on special teams and considering the fullback is not used as frequently on offense, this is where the play of the two players will likely decide this battle.
