These are five players from the CFL that the Buffalo Bills may want to bring in for a tryout.

News broke days prior that the Canadian government has denied the CFL’s request for an interest-free $30 million dollar loan to help cover the costs and play a 2020 CFL season and has had to cancel their season. In the wake of this decision, CFL players are now on the outside looking in as NFL training camps ramp up, including the Buffalo Bills, with their 2020 season in the headlights.

There has been some good news for these CFL players as 2019 CFL Rookie of the Year and Kent State product, Nate Holley as he has had some teams express interest him, with many other players hoping to receive the same news. Though there is a preconceived notion that CFL players cannot make the transition to the NFL level, many players have found success in the past just like beloved former Bills quarterback, Doug Flutie.

In addition to CFL experience, many of the players on Canadian rosters come with American football experience, having played in NCAA D-1 divisions, having been drafted by an NFL team or even played seasons in the NFL. The caliber of player is not grossly far off to consider bringing these players in to make an impact on the roster.

If there is to be a domino-like effect with CFL players being granted workouts by NFL teams, these are five players that the Buffalo Bills should consider bringing in, starting with the offensive line.
