These were some of the top highlights from the second day of padded practices for the Buffalo Bills.

The Buffalo Bills were back on the practice field for their second consecutive padded practice on Tuesday. While all eyes were on Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs in Day 1 it was another pair of wide receivers that made the stand out plays on Day 2.

The first highlight comes from Isaiah Hodgins who goes up and snags this pass from Josh Allen.

Last year one of the concerns for the wide receivers was whether or not they had enough size at the position. Sean McDermott during training camp last year called this position group β€˜Smurfs’.

The Bills went out this offseason and made sure they had plenty of size with the selections of Gabriel Davis in the fourth round and Hodgins in the sixth. Hodgins in particular stands out as he is 6’3β€³ and has some excellent vertical, as demonstrated in this highlight, to go after some of these passes.

While the Buffalo Bills are set at the top of the depth chart, if Isaiah Hodgins continues to make plays like this then Brian Daboll would be smart to utilize the rookie, especially in the red zone.

Duke Williams makes the catch of training camp

While the talk at the wide receiver position has been the rookies, and of course Stefon Diggs, it was Duke Williams who made the play of practice. There is no question that he turned some heads catching this pass from Matt Barkley over Ike Brown.

While some of the wide receivers last year, because of their size made sense for the Smurfs nickname, Duke Williams is not one of them. The former CFL star, stands at 6’3β€³ and 225 pounds, and down the stretch last year became a big part of this offense.

In the playoff game against the Houston Texans, he was targeted 10 times but unfortunately was only able to come away with four receptions.

dark. Next. Best Buffalo Bills to never make a Pro Bowl

The battle at wide receiver is going to be tough with the talent the Buffalo Bills have and Duke Williams was a player that appeared to be on the bubble. If he continues to make plays like this, the franchise might just be forced to find a way to keep him on the roster.
