The Buffalo Bills have been active managing the roster and it is time to update the regular season roster with these moves in mind.

At the start of training camp, we made our projections for the Buffalo Bills 53-man roster. However, since that time there has been a number of moves that affects those projections.

Over the past two weeks, the Bills have had two players expected to make the roster, Star Lotulelei and E.J. Gaines opt out of the upcoming season. They also had another starter, Jon Feliciano suffer a torn pec that is likely to force him to miss a number of games to start the year.

However, the front office has been proactive and have brought in key pieces like Brian Winters who now not only has a chance to make the regular season roster but be a starter for this team.

With these recent moves in mind, this an updated look at the 53-man roster projections for the Buffalo Bills.

Quarterback (3)

Josh Allen, Matt Barkley, Jake Fromm

In the original projections, the Bills were only going to keep Josh Allen and Matt Barkley. It would make sense the team would try to put Jake Fromm on the practice squad this year, especially considering teams can protect four players from another team taking them.

However, there is still a chance for teams to claim players from the Bills practice squad because Brandon Beane explained that protection only starts at 4 PM on Tuesday every week. The risk of putting Jake Fromm out there to be claimed is too great and for that reason he makes the 53-man roster.
