Buffalo Bills: 5 players who could emerge as major contributors
The absence of Star Lotulelei is going to create a great opportunity for another player to step up as starter in the middle of this defense alongside Ed Oliver. While Harrison Phillips is likely the favorite, it remains to be seen if he can step in as starter coming off a torn ACL.
This is why a player like Vincent Taylor could emerge as a key contributor, and even possibly starter early in the season. Vincent Taylor was a sixth round pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2017 but was waived prior to last season and joined the Bills practice squad at the start of 2019 and eventually was promoted to the active roster.
He was brought back this offseason and was considered likely just a training camp body. However, now there is a need for a run-stuffing defensive tackle and Taylor could be the perfect fit. Unfortunately fans won’t be able to see him during preseason but the fact he was with the team last year should help him transition into being a key contributor this coming season.
