Buffalo Bills: 2021 Seven round mock draft before training camp
By Daniel Bruce
Round 5, 135th Overall: Elijah Moore (WR), Ole Miss
The flashy junior receiver out of Ole Miss has all the tools to be a reliable slot receiver at the next level and could also carve out a gadget role early in his career.
While the Bills have Isaiah McKenzie as their “gadget” backup slot receiver there is definitely ways to improve at that position and that would happen if Moore was selected. With Andre Roberts at 32 years old, and his contract expiring after next season, Moore has shown an ability to return kicks and punts with Ole Miss. Returning 14 punts for an average of 6.4 yards per return in his sophomore year, while returning 12 kicks in his freshman season, Moore has the ability to contribute in the return game.
Moore was a solid contributor for Ole Miss in 2019, catching 67 balls for 850 yards and 6 touchdowns, he has the ability to be productive from the slot. His ability to make tacklers miss is impressive, evident here when he had a 47 yard catch and run touchdown versus Arkansas:
With Cole Beasley aging at 31 years old, and a free agent by 2023, Moore could find a spot as a gadget player for one or two years and then compete for the starting slot position when Beasley is gone.
