Bills keep position flexibility with Brian Winters

One of the qualities that the Buffalo Bills have tried to find, across all positions, is players that can play multiple positions. This is not limited to the offensive line but the players they have there is a perfect example of this.

Cody Ford could play guard or tackle but he isn’t the only player as Spencer Long has experience at guard and center, Ryan Bates could play tackle or guard, free agent additions Daryl Williams has experience at tackle and guard while Evan Boehm can play center or guard.

While Brian Winters only played right guard for the New York Jets, the first thing that comes up on his scouting report by Bleacher Report is versatility. He played right tackle for the first two years at right tackle for Kent State, moved to right guard as a junior then finished his collegiate career at left tackle.

Even if Winters stays at guard for the Bills, his presence on the team allows the other players to have that position flexibility. The coaching staff now doesn’t feel the pressure to move Ford to right guard or start Spencer Long and lose him as the key backup to Mitch Morse at center.
