Number 5: Terrence McGee

In the 2003 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills selected Terrence McGee out of Northwestern State in the fourth round. McGee is one of the few players during the playoff drought that spent his entire career, 10 years, with the Buffalo Bills. At just 5 feet and 9 inches, McGee was not the most physical corner and struggled a bit in run support but made up for it with his coverage skills. During his time in Buffalo, McGee recorded 17 total interceptions at 1.7 per season as well as 99 passes defended at 9.9 per season.

In 2004, McGee’s second year in the league, he managed to make the Pro Bowl roster and it’s no surprise that this was the season with his highest tackle output. In addition to his tackle output in 2004, McGee also proved to be a great kick returner with three kicks returned for a touchdown that season. In his career, McGee averaged 26.3 yards per return which solidifies his contributions on special teams on top of his great coverage skills.

This 5th spot was a tough one to decide, as players like Leodis McKelvin and his return abilities as well as Antoine Winfield Sr. with his run support prowess, made the five spot a difficult pick. However, Winfield and McKelvin did not quite match the coverage abilities of McGee, thus earning him the fifth best cornerback in Buffalo Bills history. The combined abilities of McGee in the return game as well as his interception and passes defensed numbers solidify his position on this Top 5 list.
